It has officially been a year yesterday when Abel offered to train me. My outlook on the world was tainted. I was 20lbs. overweight and my marriage ended after just 4 months. I was in a really bad transition in life, my outlook was dark and tainted.

I had paid for personal trainers in the past. Hundreds of dollars later I wasn’t anywhere near my goals nor did I understand how to get them. I lacked guidance and discipline. Abel’s journey was the ultimate motivation and I admired his determination and progress.

I have been working with Abel since end of January. I reached out to Abel in order to assist me with achieving a chin up. The initial goal was to work together for 4 sessions. Needless to say we just started month 5 of training together. We accomplished that goal in 4 months.

I feel safe and secure when working together knowing that my injury is taken into serious consideration but not viewed as a hindrance to my training. I feel so empowered. Abel is a stellar coach who is attentive, professional and innovative. Most importantly he is human.

Abel changed my outlook on nutrition and fitness in many ways. I learned about how it isn't a plan that changes a diet but choices. Choices can create a guideline for eating rather than a long list of restrictions - I can choose to eat the cookie and will choose to eat chicken for dinner to balance my carb, fat, and protein intake. I wasn't just being told to do something because 'trainers know best', but I was educated on what it means to focus on my whole being rather than just muscle growth or just nutrition planning.
